Keshi pearls, give an original touch to your summer looks!

It is well known that nothing highlights a tan more than white pearls. However, at SY Perlas we are not satisfied with offering what everyone else does.

Keshi pearls are some of our favorites, as there are few gems more original. Unlike other cultured pearls, which are created by inserting a nucleus into an oyster or mussel and allowing it to coat it with its nacre, Keshi pearls are formed by chance during cultivation.

There are two types to distinguish. On one hand, saltwater Keshi pearls, which occur when oysters expel the nucleus that was inserted. With no nucleus to coat, the oyster creates Keshi pearls. The second type is Freshwater Keshi pearls, which are created when pearls are removed from a freshwater mussel and the mussel is returned to the water. Once again, with no nucleus to coat, the mussel creates Keshi pearls.

Keshi pearls are very distinctive, usually somewhat flattened, and at SY Perlas we select the best ones to create our designs.
