Cultured Freshwater Pearl Necklace Collection | SY Perlas
Few jewels have the transformative power of a pearl
necklace. It can brighten the face and elevate a outfit in seconds. At SY Perlas, we reinvent this fashion icon by offering you necklaces with Genuine Cultured Pearls Freshwater. Unlike imitation necklaces that lose their color with friction, our pieces are organic gems, selected to give you that touch of "attainable luxury" you deserve.
Quality and craftsmanship of our necklaces
A good necklace depends not only on the pearl, but on how it’s assembled. These are the features that define SY Perlas quality:
- High Luster: As pearls formed entirely of solid layers of nacre, they have a very special satiny, warm luster. In addition, this solid structure ensures exceptional resistance to wear.
- Hand-Knotted: Our necklaces are hand-strung with high-strength silk thread and feature a knot between each pearl. This is vital in fine jewelry: it prevents the pearls from rubbing and wearing against each other, and if the necklace were to break from a pull, only one pearl would fall, not all.
- Premium Clasps: To secure the piece, we use clasps and safety fastenings in 925 Sterling Silver with rhodium plating or 18k Gold, combining aesthetics and functionality.
Pair your pearl necklace with our Interchangeable Hoops from the Atelier Collection. The movement of the hoops and the option to add charms create a sophisticated, modern contrast, moving away from the traditional rigid image and bringing a fresh, youthful air
to your look.
Frequently Asked Questions about Freshwater Pearl
Necklaces
Why aren’t the pearls perfectly round?
It’s nature’s signature. Freshwater pearls grow in the mollusk without a spherical nucleus to guide them, so they often develop slightly oval or baroque shapes. Far from a flaw, this characteristic proves they are Genuine Cultured Pearls and allows us to offer necklaces with gorgeous nacre at a much more accessible price than perfectly round saltwater varieties.
What length should I choose?
Necklace length is a matter of personal preference. The most popular standard is the “Princess” length (between 40 and 45 cm), which falls just below the collarbone and suits almost any neckline, from shirts to crew-neck dresses. If you’re unsure, measure a necklace you like on yourself to use as a reference.
Can the necklace get wet?
We recommend avoiding it. Although pearls are durable, the silk thread that holds the necklace together can weaken or stretch if it gets wet frequently, and soap chemicals can affect the nacre’s shine. To keep it looking new, put it on after applying makeup and perfume, and wipe it with a soft cloth before storing.
