Unlike diamonds, there is no universal standard in the world of pearls. This allows many brands to use marketing terms like "AAAA" or "AAAAA" for pearls that we wouldn't even accept for sale.
At SY Perlas we are third-generation pearl growers. Our classification is not marketing; it is a technical guarantee based on a strict, manual selection:
- AA+ Quality (Our Premium Standard):
Far from being a basic grade, this is our benchmark selection. It corresponds to what other brands call "luxury quality" or AAAA. These pearls have magnificent luster and a very clean surface. An ideal option for their unbeatable value for money. - AAA Quality (The Top 3%):
A noticeable step up in clarity. We select only the top 3% of each annual harvest. They have a more intense, deeper luster and an even cleaner surface, with practically imperceptible imperfections. Ideal for those seeking an extra level of excellence. - Signature Quality (The 1% - Extraordinary Pearls):
The extraordinary. Pearls with an almost perfect balance of luster, shape, and surface. They are incredibly hard to find and represent less than 1% of the world’s production.
Preparation time
Certain designs, such as some of our earrings and necklaces where you can choose the type of clasp, are hand-strung once the order is placed, so we need one business day to have them ready and ship them the following day. Feel free to contact us if you are in a hurry.
However, the vast majority of products are ready, so orders placed before 13:00 will be shipped the same day and the rest the following day.

Product care
A good rule for pearl care is that they should be the last thing you put on and the first thing
you take off.
It is also a good idea to clean your pearls with a soft cloth after wearing them and, occasionally, you can dampen it with water for a more thorough cleaning. Avoid using abrasive soaps as they can damage the luster of the pearls.
Always keep your pearls separate from other hard jewelry, such as metals and other gemstones, to prevent scratching.
